Cane village

For decades, Cane Village, see picture has been a staple in Lagos, Nigeria. Covering a significant area where exquisite cane crafts are produced and sold. Creations are woven on the spot, and there is a substantial stock available. Some families have been selling and sharing their craft since the village's inception.

At the time of our visit, there were fewer stands than usual, particularly under the bridge where many are located. This is due to the construction of a new highway on this exact spot. We hope part of the village can remain as is, or that proper relocation to a better spot will be arranged – though we fear the latter may not happen.
