Collection: Olumide ''Master of waste to wealth''

Olumide is a 52 year old artist residing in Lagos, Nigeria. He is divorced and has 2 sons and a daughter which are currently studying. A fun fact, it seems like creativity runs in the family, as his daughter is a fashion designer and his son also draws. Olumide schooled at a Polytechnic school in Lagos and did not study art actually. However, ever since he was little he had a passion for painting and it happened that he grew up next to small community of artists. This all led to the fact that he started painting professionally in 1998 and since then took several art and painting courses. His inspiration comes from everyday life experiences and scenery, as he likes to project these onto the canvas. We met Olumide on a street corner in Lagos, where is trying to sell his works and make a living for himself and his family. Olumide’s nickname is ‘’Master of Waste to Wealth’’, he is known for making art out of almost nothing or waste materials.
